Special Events

Special events conducted annually support efforts to recognize volunteers and raise much needed funds.

Additionally, the sponsorship of special events enables LSNF to educate the community about its services.  These events are critical in helping raise funds to further our mission of providing quality legal aid to low-income people who have nowhere else to turn for assistance.  We are happy to announce our regular events and those others from time to time in which we invite you to attend.  Please join us!

January – Founders of Justice Society Member Reception

LSNF gathers its Founders of Justice Society members together each year to thank them for their generous support of LSNF’s Endowment Fund. It is also an opportunity to thank and introduce new members investing the $5,000 or more to join our elite circle of friends in support of hope and justice for all. Please contact us and we will have one of our society members give you a call. Contact Mary Dekle at 850-701-3313 or at mary@lsnf.org.

March – Jazz for Justice

It is an annual musical tribute and tradition over ten years in the running, supporting individuals and families served by LSNF. Be there under the canopy oaks of The Front Porch and across the street at The Wine Loft from 4 to 7 p.m. The Tickets are $20, children 12 and under are free. Sponsorship opportunities are available from $100 to $5,000. Join us each March! May – Law Week

During Law Week of each year, a Law Day Celebration is held in honor of all attorneys of the 2nd Judicial Circuit supporting the work of LSNF and the Legal Aid Foundation (LAF) of the Tallahassee Bar Association either by volunteering or contributing money. Over a million dollars in volunteer time and money is donated each year, so on the first Tuesday of each May, hundreds gather for the recognition reception LSNF hosts. A keynote speaker addresses and inspires participants followed by the presentation of the Joy Aukema Taps Children’s Advocate of the Year Award, The Parks and Crump Thurgood Marshall Judicial Excellence Award and the Richard W. Ervin Equal Justice Award.  The Tallahassee law office of Berger Singerman has been a long time annual sponsor of this important event.  Additional sponsorships are welcome. Please contact John Fenno at john@lsnf.org.

October – Pro Bono Week

In recognition of national the American Bar Association Pro Bono Week each year, a Pro Bono Celebration Ceremony is held in the 1st Judicial Circuit, either in Fort Walton Beach or Pensacola supporting the work of LSNF and Northwest Florida Legal Services (NWFLS) either by volunteering or contributing money. Like the Law Day event in Tallahassee in May, the Pro Bono Day Celebration observes the great work of many volunteers and other supporters serving LSNF’s two branch offices in Fort Walton Beach and Pensacola. Sponsorships are welcome. Please contact John Fenno at john@lsnf.org.

December – Holiday Shopping Nights

Holiday shopping nights is an opportunity for individuals in Tallahassee and surrounding communities to buy gifts at local retailers for their families and friends and support LSNF at the same time. LSNF has been fortunate for the last couple of years to partner with Way Out West and 10,000 Villages to give LSNF supporters and others other ways to show their support before the end of the year. Hot beverages and cookies greet shoppers along with the smiling faces of volunteers welcoming all who participate. For more information or sponsorship opportunities, contact Mary Dekle at 850-701-3313 or at mary@lsnf.org.
