About Our Project

The Revitalize Our Communities Project is north Florida’s first rural focused community economic development project established by legal service providers.  The initial partners, Legal Services of North Florida,  Inc. and Three Rivers Legal Services, Inc.  have both had long standing commitments to empowering low income rural communities to tackle the problem of poverty and enhance access to justice.  The project has a unique rural focus (as opposed to most national programs, which aim to impact blighted urban areas), but the project retains flexibility to work in urban areas, also.  The focal point of our project is to build and expand the capacity of rural non profit organizations such as community based organizations (CBOs), community development corporations (CDCs) and community land trusts (CLTs)  to provide their communities with affordable housing, micro enterprises, job training programs, new jobs, child care/after school mentoring programs, and vehicles to preserve land and cultural resources.

Our project began in November of 2005.  Some of our representative clients, include:

Mayo Manna House, Inc. (Mayo, FL).
