Planned Giving

Have you prepared a will?   Without a will, you may lose control over your belongings after death.  Your property and finances are settled according to state laws, whether or not they coincide with your wishes. Prepare a will, and leave a legacy.

The following are planned gift arrangements that are easy to understand, simple to arrange and can be designated to Legal Services of North Florida 30th Anniversary Endowment.

  • Bequests - Bequests are charitable gifts included in your will or living trust.  They are easy to arrange and can be revoked at any time before death.  Bequests are the most popular of planned gifts, they can also reduce estate taxes.

  • Gift Annuities - Gift annuities are the most popular life-income arrangement, providing you with guaranteed lifetime income in exchange for a gift.  Gift annuities are now especially popular because of the recent decline in the stock market and historically low interest rates.  Current gift annuities rates compare very favorably with other investments.  Annuities provide you with an opportunity to do well by doing good.  Legal Services of North Florida can offer gift annuities through the Community Foundation of North Florida's gift annuity program.

  • Beneficiary Designations - you can easily name Legal Services of North Florida as a beneficiary on a life insurance policy, an annuity or retirement plan, such as an IRA or 401(k).  You can also name Legal Services  through Transfer-on-Death designation on bank accounts and investment accounts.

  • Gifts of Securities - Another important gift option is the donation of stock, bonds and mutual funds.  These can be current gifts, or they can be used to fund deferred gifts, such as gift annuities.  Even with the sliding in the stock market, you can avoid capital gains by donating directly to Legal Services of North Florida.

Your gifts enable Legal Services of North Florida to continue to make a difference in peoples' lives and in our community.
