It is our mission to help families rebuild their lives and become self-sustaining, contributing citizens in our communities.

LSNF has established case priorities which are reviewed on a yearly basis. The plan is developed based on input from former clients, partnering agencies, the judiciary, lawyers, and staff members. Family Law is one of our priorities.

LSNF also strives to provide holistic services to clients which address not only their legal needs, but also social service referrals and case management services. Our volunteer and staff lawyers provide counsel, advice or full representation to clients. Many times our lawyers will identify other legal issues where we may provide assistance such as public benefits, housing, or consumer.

LSNF handles some family law matters where the situation may threaten the security or the viability of a family. LSNF may handle the following types of cases: paternity, adoption, name change, and guardianship. LSNF also handles dissolution of marriage cases where abuse is present. For more information on divorces, please see the Domestic/Sexual Violence Link. Each case is reviewed on its own legal merits for case acceptance.
