Legal Services of North Florida

LSNF is among Florida’s great legal advocates and public servants.  The generosity of friends who understand and believe in our mission enables Legal Services to address meeting as many individual clients’ needs as possible and, when it make sense, to change a policy, practice or procedure that is keeping people from reaching their full potential.

We invite your partnership in Legal Services of North Florida’s 30th Anniversary Campaign.

Why Give?

A contribution to Legal Services is an investment in hope for the future and equal access to justice for all.

Major gifts are vitally important to the future of Legal Services. When you make a significant commitment, you enter into an enduring partnership with Legal Services that can produce far-reaching benefits. Donors of major gifts can contribute to the general endowment fund, establish a named endowment for a staff attorney position or select a naming opportunity available from five LSNF offices throughout North Florida.   More...

Ways to Give

You can write a check, charge your gift using our online giving system, or transfer assets such as stocks, bonds, and property.

Making a planned gift may allow you to give more than you ever thought possible and, at the same time, benefit from tax advantages or income for life. Planned or deferred gift options include bequests, annuities, and trusts.

Legal Services depends on annual gifts, which are spent in the year they are given. Your annual support provides a level of flexibility that is necessary for innovation to thrive.

There are a number of ways to give to Legal Services of North Florida.  More...

Gifts of Securities

The best stocks to donate are those that have increased greatly in value, particularly those producing a low yield. Even if it is stock you wish to keep in your portfolio, by giving us the stock and using cash to buy the same stock through your broker, you will have received the same income tax deduction but will have a new, higher basis in the stock.  More...

Gifts of Cash

The simplest way to give. However, you can deduct a cash gift for income tax purposes only in the year in which you contribute it. Your cash gifts are deductible up to 50 percent of your adjusted gross income for the taxable year, but any excess is deductible over the next five years.  More...

Endowment Fund Reaches
  $2,014,962

NEWS

Gifts to LSNF’s Endowment continue to be received. LSNF welcomes Christopher and Carrie Kroll as the newest donors, who made their gift in honor of Kris Knab’s 30 years at LSNF.

Remember the Endowment Fund is always open to take gifts whether they be cash, stocks, property, insurance policies or bequests. Cars, trucks, RVs or boats can be turned into a gift for LSNF’s future, in addition to any of your old or unused gold, silver and platinum jewelry or serving pieces. Contact Mary Dekle or John Fenno for more details.

LSNF has also received several cy pres awards this year.  Make sure your firm or colleagues know that Legal Services of North Florida is a great place to direct cy pres awards. All cy pres awards will go to the Endowment Fund unless otherwise directed.

REMEMBER, a new way for you to show your support and participate in the 30th Anniversary Campaign is to bring us your old gold, silver and platinum jewelry (single earrings, broken chains and bracelets, rings, etc.) and that silver seldom used or polished and we will turn it into your cash gift for the 30th Anniversary Endowment. Contact John Fenno at 385-9007 ex. 1006 or john@lsnf.org for more information.
